I have a 2 year old HLN507w. First bulb lasted 18 months. 6 months into the second bulb set would turn on but bulb would not fire up; unplug retry eventually would start. Now it gives an actual message on the screen saying that there is an overheat problem--clear vents, move heat generating components etc... I've let it cool down, unplugged etc. Put a small room fan on it etc. --the fan near the bulb is spinning. Always the same message. Any suggestions? thanks

Try replacing the lamp fan. Just because it spins doesn't mean it's up to speed. Other than that, a service call to 1-800-SAMSUNG. If you are persistent they may work with you.

These are new inventions. Yours is only a second generation. Extended warranties are always a good idea. Good luck!
