I was running a better cable to my Explorer 3250HD box, and when I went to connect the new cable to the terminal outside, I got a little shock. When I disconnected the box from any inputs/outputs and put the meter to it, I got 30 VAC on the grounded parts of the unit (chassis, shielded cover on the line in etc.)...that doesn't seem good. I took the box back and got a new one. SAME THING! Has anyone else had this problem? Isn't this dangerous at worst, bad for equipment at least? I realize the current must be small, but last time I checked, grounded parts of electronics should not be hot...

It isn't the box, it is the wiring to your outlet. You should call an electrician immediately!!!
