After quite a bit of research I bought a 55" Hitachi (55HDS69) yesterday, to be delivered tomorrow. I have seen numerous suggestions to avoid burn-in like turning the factory "torch mode" down, being careful during the first 100 hours, and calibrating with video essentials or AVIA.

Can someone tell me more specifically what DVE and/or AVIA is? What is it exactly? How does it communicate with the TV? How do I get it? Should I definately use it?

Thanks.

This are calibration or set up DVDs with Color filters. The menu navigation on DVE is a bit difficult to use but its a fine product.
