right now i have a Dishnetwork 2700 receiver with Atmega, but its not working for obvious reasons, and i tried to use that new fix thats out, got card programmed but the card wouldn't work with the receiver and i don't know how to change the IRD and box keys for that receiver.

I had it for a few years, but i think its time to get a new one. I was thinking of a Viewsat Platinum, but not sure. I want to go for a Viewsat, but not sure which one. What is the better model???

thanks

Viewsat Extreme.

Viewsats were the first to correct the ECM that DN sent out two weeks ago now. Followed by a few lesser used receivers such as the Dreambox and dragon somthing or other. Wiewsat are the top dogs right now.

Both are almost the same but I think Viewsat Extreme has blindscan feature that Platinum doesn't.

off topic zea, but here goes...
Clones are clones, or cheaper knock off of an original anything. Such as a T-Shirt you see hanging in a convenience store window for $10 and the same T-Shirt hanging in a clothing store for $30. Or a DSS receiver that you know cost $XXX of money yet you know this ‘guy’ who can get it for you for cheaper. You know they look the same and do the same thing, but the quality is different.
Most clones have their own brand name, though there are those that actually put the Pansat name on it even though it’s not. The true good knock offs clone will be harder to tell.
For a Pansat, what I’ve noticed is the On/Off button on the back actually says On/Off, whereas the clone say O/I. There are other things too, but that is the easies quick test.

zea,
before tagging try the BL jtagless fix which can be found at dsscentral*net.
And here's a pic of real/fake 2700.

Yes I am. Considering they fixed the ECM problem first, you gotta go with them until the next one happens and someone else takes the top spot.
