Hello, I've got the same problem with my new Samsung LN-R409D, installed in our bedroom. There's nothing in the owner's manual about turning off the blue ring light. A poster on C/Net said to try: "Menu/Set-Up/Blue-Eye Turn Off" but that appears to be for the relatively new ambient light sensor. There was no such available path for my set for the on/off blue ring light.

It's possible to enter the bottom of my set, where the central pedistal stand installs. There is a cover-box there, located over the on/off switch. I didn't want to goof with it, on a brand new set, and screw up the warranty.

I emailed customer service at Samsung, but got no response. It appears that they are proud of the damn thing. Maybe they don't sleep!

I'd sure like some help with this issue, too.

Thanks, New User: Kendall Williams
