i have a JVC HRJ693 VCR and a Panasonic DRMES15S DVD recorder. I also have an Hitachi 4 head VCR (started eating up couple of tapes so its just sitting in my closet, was 6-7 years old) and an older one (around 9-10 years old) . I am trying to transfer my tapes onto DVD (mostly recorded from television and some retail tapes). I am playing it on my and i noticed the picture "jitters" and thats the result i get on the DVD (good thing i was testing it with a DVD-RAM). I then tried to transfer using my older vcr and the picture was perfect, no jittering, etc. so i just decided to back up dvds from the older vcr for now. my question is whats the matter with the JVC vcr?? its connected directly to my television with the DVD recorder going from In to Out of the VCR. Seems weird. thanks |

The VCR may just need cleaned. Better quality cables will sometimes cure recording problems. You may need to manually track the tapes instead of using the auto tracking. |
