Hello,

Is the sony DVP-NS90V a good DVD player? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OTjR9831CtH/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=54400&I=158NS90V
I can get this player for about $140usd from my work.

Or should I piss the wife off and go for a 3100ES http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OTjR9831CtH/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=54400&I=158D31HE SB
I can get this one for about $320usd

I do about 50/50 music movies

Thanks

Is any Sony player any good? Overpriced underperformers, typical Sony.

Either of the Sony you mentioned above will perform well. I think the ES model is overkill, when compare to the DVP-90v. I think the 90V will surprise you in the quality and sound. It's true that Sony has had an issue in the past with overprice DVD players that did not perform well but they appear to have changed somewhat with their latest crop.
