My dvd player (outputs 480i (not prog.scan) is now connected through my hd receiver (Samsung ts360) via component cables, then to my tv. When I select the 'component' input to watch a dvd, the resolution display info tells me I'm watching 480p.

Is my samsung receiver upconverting the dvd to 480p? The picture looks better, but I've probably just convinced my brain that I'm watching a progressive image. Wishful thinking! Any ideas are appreciated.
