I'm in the market for a 50-51 inch Rear projection HDTV. Looking at Sony 51 and Samsung 50 inch DLP unit. Samsung is roughly twice the price. My question is whether it's worth the price difference. I can't find any reviews that tell me whether a DLP rear projector gives a better picture than one with CRTs.

YES! DLP tvs give a lot better picture than a CRT tv would. The DLP tv brings out the blackness to stand out more and the pixels are set to give a lot better picture too. Pretty much all CRt ts give that gray black tone when watching a dvd or vhs but the DLP set pixels are more advanced to anhance better picture. Hope that helps
