Hello,

I just purchased one of these DVD players. Now, I didn't expect for it to record copy protected DVDs and VHS tapes, but this won't even let me back-up my own tapes! Every movie I've tried to copy to DVD says it's not allowed. Even the ones that I already had previously recorded onto regular cassettes. Is there some way around this? For this model of Emerson specifically that is.


I already have a VCR and a DVD player. This was a complete waste if it can't transfer my tapes. Also, is there anything GOOD about this model? Because so far it's doing nothing but pissing me off.

This unit is of no use to me like this and I can't return it. So I'm perfectly frustrated enough to take a hacksaw to it and fiddle around with it's internal parts if anyone knows how to remove this problem that way.
