My tv has been working fine. Then one day the sound stop working on the tv if I am just using the cable box. But if I use the DVD player the sound works fine. Also if I switch it off channel 3 (the channel that my cable is linked to) i can hear sound of the tv just the picture isn't great. Someone did use my apartment and could have unplugged something but I've checked all the connections and I can't see anything wrong. Would love it if anyone had any thoughts!

If you have multiple connections on the TV switch the cable box to the connections you are using for the DVD. If you don't get any sound it's the cable box. Someone probably turned something off.

Check the volume on the cable box. Give more info what TV what cable box.

Thank you for your help. It was the cable box. I replaced it with a new one and everything works fine now. Thank you!
