I have a Panasonic TH-50PX50U HDTV that only has 1 HDMI input. I currently connect my RCN HD Cable Box to the TV via HDMI.

I would like to buy an upconvert DVD player.

However, I am forced to connect 1 via HDMI and 1 via Component cables. Which would you connect with the HDMI? Cable or DVD?

In addition, has anyone tried the HDMI Switchers? Any comments on picture quality? For example, using an HDMI Switcher compared to component video?

Great question that I also need the answer too. Just saw a guy post that is looking to buy a Sony HTIB with 2 HDMI inputs and 1 out. That would solve the problem. The other problem is that I do not think you can run HDMI and digital coax from your cable thus if you run HDMI from cable to TV you have to somehow get the sound back to the receiver. Unless you have digital out on our TV then you must us the AV out...you loose the digital sound..I think.
