I have a new Sony recorder. Thanks to the help of this forum I was able to get it set up (I needed an RF Modulator). Tonight, as I tried to record the Soprano's for my son, I got the error message that I couldn't record a copyright movie. Then something about updating the information on the disk - wait a moment. I've tried this several times with the same result - the recording stops. Can this be corrected? Is is my brand/model? Can another recorder overcome this copy protection issue? Please help.

Basically, a copyrighted movie will not copy regardless of the recorder. Try using a Sima GoDVD CT-2 image stabilizer between your source and the recorder. It should take care of the copyright signal.
