have recently purchased a Panasonic DMR-HE50 DVD recorder and would like to make it multi Region so that I can play my Region 1 DVDs. Could some one tell me how to do this.and is possible to up grade the hrad drive to 160g? Please advise to email nelson41@iprimus.com.au

Panasonics don't unlock with the remote.

I'll answer the 2nd part of the question. A Panasonic recorder will reformat any sized HDD equal to or greater than it's initial HDD to only use the original sized HDD.

In other words; Put a 250g HDD into your E-50 and it will still hold the same as the original 160g HDD. It simply partitions and ignores the other 90 Gig.

have 32" jvc w/screen tv, panasonic DMR-HE50 dvd recorder, sky digi box, jvc video. Since connecting new dvd, my tv is taking ages to come on unless I disconnect dvd from 2nd scart on tv. Also can't tune in the panasonic dvd to sky, get all other channels thru the dvd - help!!!! frustrated.
