The cassette basket won't drop. After working with it I found out that this is only true when I push on the basket manually. When I actually insert a cassette, the basket DOES drop but the guide rollers don't engage. Ocassionally the roller, guide, or spindle on the swinging plastic arm to the right side of the basket catches the tape and pulls it out but not always. The VCR inevitably spits the cassette back out, pulling a bit of the tape out as it slides back over the stationary guide rollers. Throughout this process the cassette door (if that's the correct term for the entrance to the cassette basket) never closes. As before, there are no unusual sounds - whirring, clicking, or otherwise - associated with the problem. Thanks.
