REGION FREE METHODS FOR : MBO

DVD-R1000 To enable Multi-Region Capability:
Make sure that the players DVD draw is open!
Then on the remote press the following numbers:
'8,4,2,1'

This should bring up a special menu.
Press ENTER to toggle through the region codes and select '9' to enable region bypass.
Macrovision can also be switched on and off from the same menu

The above is correct. It is important that there is no CD/DVD inside the unit when the tray is opened!!!!! 		Yes

940 Plus 1. Switch the Player ON and make sure you don't have any DVD inserted and Door closed.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Setup, Next, Prev, Next, Prev, Next, Prev.
3. You may need to do more repeats of Next and Previous until you see VER followed by a number.
4. Now you can switch with the cursor keys to the region number required or use 255 for region free.
5. To disable Macrovision, change the numbers 3001 and 4001 to 3000 and 4000 respectively.
6. If there is a number 5001 on screen, change it 5000 for VCD enable.

916 1. Switch on without a dvd in the drive.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following quickly: SETUP-NEXT-STOP-STEP-PREV-NEXT.

921 This may be a VCD hack for the 916...

1. Press Setup on the remote control.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Next, Previous, Next, Previous, Down Arrow, then insert a VCD 2.0.
3. Enter 255 and press Setup again to finish.
4. You may be able to enter 1 at step 3 to make it region 1 rather than region-free.

This method may be the proper one:

1. Power up the player.
2. Then press the SETUP-button.
3. Now press the button NEXT then PREV then NEXT again and then PREV.
4. You will now in the right cornor of the screen see "VER 2".
5. You have to change it to "VER 255".
6. To do this press the " > " button on your remote-control, (it's just right to the PLAY button) till you see "VER 255".
7. Then press SETUP again to finish the hack.

2. Then next - previous - next - previous.
3. A version number appears at top right of screen.
4. Use cursor keys to change to V255 for region-free or change to desired region number.

Note : other VER numbers could be possibly changed here - 3001, 4001 and 5001 canbe changed to 3000, 4000 and 5000 respectively to alter user prohibitions, macrovision and VCD enable.   let me know if these work, or are present.
