REGION FREE METHODS FOR : Marantz

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
710 Region 1:

1. Press PLAY, 2, 7, 4 on the remote control.
2. When the display reads '--', press 005 000 128 156 on the remote control.   The player is in region 1 mode.
3. Press PLAY on the remote.

Region 2:

1. Press PLAY, 2, 7, 4 on the remote control.
2. When the display reads '--', press 002 000 128 156 on the remote control.   The player is in region 2 mode.
3. Press PLAY on the remote.

Reset to factory defaults:

1. Press PLAY, 1, 5, 9 on the remote control.
2. When the display reads '--', press 004 010 000 140 on the remote control.   The player is in region 1 mode.
3. Press PLAY on the remote.

NOTE: this hack works for the 4100 model (see below), but has a limited life of 15 changes, anchoring the player on the final change to the region selected - BEWARE!

890 Region 1:

1.  Press PLAY, 2, 7, 4 on the remote control.
2.  When the display reads '--', press 005 000 128 156 on the remote control.   The player is in region 1 mode.

Region 2:

1.  Press PLAY, 2, 7, 4 on the remote control.
2.  When the display reads '--', press 002 000 128 156 on the remote control.   The player is in region 2 mode.
3.  Press PLAY on the remote.

1. Turn on without a disc in the tray and wait for "No Disc" on font panel display.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Pause, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9.
3. The word COdE is displayed on the front panel.
4. Key in the number of the region you want to use, or 0 for region free.
5. Then press Pause again.

Note: using the hack on the 6200, the numbers are not working during the video, it means that for example if you want to go to the track nr 7 from the track nr 2, then I can't use the key nr. 7 but you can skip forward for 5 times (only for DVD, because the remote control is working perfect with CD).

(S)VCD playback for the 4200 and 6200:

1. Press the Break button on your remote control
2. Press the 1 button on your remote control
3. Press the 4 button on your remote control
4. Press the 7 button on your remote control
5. Press the 2 button on your remote control
6. Press the Enter button on your remote control
7. Using the Up button on your remote control, highlight the 4 DE option on the display
8. Press the Program button on your remote control
9. Press the 4 button on your remote control
10. Press the Program button on your remote control
11. Press the 5 button on your remote control
12. Press the Enter button on your remote control
13. Press the Return button on your remote control
14. Power off your player
15. Power on your player

If the above (s)vcd hack doesn't work, try this:
Use the remote control for all button presses:
1. Press Pause, 1, 4, 7, 2, 5, 5
2. Press Enter, Up, 5, 3
3. Press Enter, Up, 0, 3
4. Press Enter, Up, Program, 4, Program, 5
5. Press Enter, Up, 1, 2
6. Press Enter, Up, 5, 5
7. Press Enter, Up, 1, 0
8. Press Enter, Up, 0, 0, Enter
9. Power off the player, then power it back on.

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
DV-4000 1.  Power up the player with no disc in the tray.
2.  Press DIMMER, PREVIOUS on the player.
3.  The display shows '----'.
4.  Press 1, 9, 9, 9 on the remote control.
5.  Press 01 for region 1, 02 for region 2, 04 for region 3, 08 for region 4, 10 for region 5, 20 for region 6, 00 for region-free.
6.  Press ENTER on the remote control.
7.  Turn the power off then on again to make the region change.		   

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
DV-4100 You will need a One-4-All universal remote for this:

1.  Set up the remote with the code 0539.
2.  Press the MAGIC button.
3.  Press 085.  The display should read '----'
4.  Enter the following with the normal Marantz remote:

222 222 005 255 PLAY

5.  The player should now be region-free.
6. Alternatively, use:

222 222 005 00, followed by the region number required.

This hack may be good for a limited number of changes only, but this hasn't been confirmed yet.  The method for the 710 model also works on this model, but definitely has a hack limit of 15 changes.

DV-4300 To check the current region setting:

1. Open the tray.
2. Press [SETUP]
3. Press [SHUFFLE]
4. Press [PAUSE/STEP]
5. Press [NEXT] - The service menu will appear on the screen.
6. Select DEBUG with Up/Dn key - The current region can be seen.
7. Power off to finish the service mode.


To set the region:

1. Open the tray
2. Press [SETUP]
3. Press [x] (1 - 6 for each region, 9 for all)
4. Press [1111]
5. Press [PAUSE/STEP]
6. Press [SHUFFLE]
7. Press [NEXT]		 Yes

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
DV-7000 1.  Power up the player with no disc in the tray.
2.  Press NEXT, PREVIOUS on the player at the same time.
3.  The display shows 'REGION 2'.
4.  Press STOP on the player for 5 seconds.
5.  The display should read 'REGION 0'.
6.  Press PLAY on the player.
7.  Display should read 'REGION 0 OK'.
8.  Turn the player ooff then on again to make the region change.
