1. Ensure there is no disc in the player's tray. 2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Menu, 1, 6, 7, Mute. 3. It MAY not be necessary to press "Menu" at step 2. So if it doesn't work try missing out Menu and simply use 1, 6, 7, Mute.
