I have read in other posts about people asking about codes for their TVs and DVD players and recorders and unlocking codes.
Why is it necessary to have the codes?
Am I going to need codes for my TV and DVR/VCR combo and DVD Player?
Does the Comcast Cable Dual Tuner box have a code that I will have to have in order to record regular TV shows to my DVR?
Am I going to have to call Rent-A-Geek?

TV codes are probably universal remote codes. DVD codes are usually to make them region free to play DVDs from other countries, same with DVD recorders.
