Help please.
I have been copying programs from my DVR to DVD's using a Panasonic DMR-55. I'm doing this
for a friend stationed in Iraq.
After spending 4 hrs copying the disk then get a
message "finalize failure" ##U)**? This has happened with at least 3 disks.
So any ideas what I'm doing wrong. I'm using DVD-R disks ( Memorex I think).

What speed are the discs? Stay away from 16x discs with a standalone.

As I recall they are 8X. I saw that Panasonic
has a firmware upgeade for this recorder, but I'm a little apprehensive about upgrading.

I never had any problems using 8x discs. Memorex doesn't make their own discs and uses multiple manufacterers, so unless you have a PC burner, there's no way of knowing if they are good discs or not. Firmware updates will sometimes fix compatibility problems.
