Please Help. My 3 yr old Philips HD projection tv, 30 days past warranty, started displaying all of a sudden a yellow half moon at the top of the screen, along with blue or yellow shading along the edges of objects, while lettering has a blue curved double image. A week later the yellow circle started appearing also at the bottom of the screen, though the tv has to be on for some time for that to occur. Reading some of these posts led me to think it was a convergnce problem. The tv has a button to push to automatically correct convergence. Tried that several times, did not help. I would appreciate some idea of what is wrong so that when I call a repairman, I won't be taken advantage of. Guesstimate for repair cost? All help appreciated. |

I'm having this same problem with my 2 year old Panasonic rear projection TV. This started all of a sudden Saturday morning. After playing with the convergence settings for a 1/2 day, we know it has nothing to do with convergence. My husband and I then took off the back panel and started moving the blue lens (side to side was all we were willing to adjust and can easily get to) and this did help reduce the effect of the blue shadowing and the blue arch that was shadowing the station banner. It also helped reduce some of the yellow in the half moon that is formed below the blue arch. I have a service repairman scheduled to come out Wednesday morning. |
