I've just purchased a Philips DVDR 3355 to transfer my VHS to DVD. I also have a Pioneer DV-563A DVD player. I have burned both DVD-R and DVD+R on the Philips and the finalized disc will not play my Pioneer. They play on my PC and Sony NS4000. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Use better quality discs. Pioneer would be far more likely to play DVD-R than DVD+R. |

I have burned many different discs on my PC which work just fine on the Pioneer, but I did tried a certified DVD-R without any luck. My Pioneer only displays 'stop' and the play or menu contols do nothing. |

PC burners are generally better than standalone burners. Philips standalones are poor quality, problem prone recorders. If better quality discs won't work, you're probably out of luck. The only discs I use are Taiyo Yuden, the best discs made. |
