I am using my Panasonic S97 DVD player to play SACD and DTS recorded music through my stereo system. It sounds great, but I still cannot help but wonder which format I should be using for audio output via the player's setup screen, PCM or bitstream. The manual isn't very helpful in this reguard. I set it on PCM simply because one of the options was 96 bits in PCM. This leads me to believe that the 96 bit decoding will be used if I choose PCM for audio output, but won't be in bitstream. Your thoughts and suggestions would be very welcome.
