I have had my DVD player hooked up for a while and ive never had this problem the problem is this when im watching a dvd the screen flickers pitch black then goes back to normal its almost like it loses a connection but for the audio i am using an optical cable when this problem occurs the sound dosnt skip or stop or anything any suggestions wud help me

no i checked everything i am using an expensive monster cable also any more help?

Maybe the connectors themselves, either on the TV or Receiver end. Maybe a surge protection response?

i dunno i think im just gonna get a higher end dvd player because i dont think it could be cuz i have a pretty nice Pure AV surge protector
