I have a compact av system sony dav s400. The display says protect, said in the manual to check speaker connections. Did that and still says protect. disconected all speakers so nothing should be shorting out and it says protect again! non of the buttons seem to do anything can anybody help?

I'm a novice, but I know what it's like to ask for help and not get a response. I checked the Sony website (which you may have already done) and it does not recognize your model s400. Here is the link for troubleshooting the "protect" problem on an s300 model. I hope it helps.
