I got a Sony RDR-GX210 DVD Revorder for christmas and have a problem with it. It plays short DVDs without a problem, but with longer DVDs it gets about half way through and then goes to the menu screen at the end of the DVD. This is may second unit with this fault. Have I missed a setting, or is this a know fault??? |

It may be having problems with the layer change. I think Sony is using Samsung for their recorders, cheap junk. If possible, return it and buy a Pioneer, Panasonic, Toshiba. |

My parents bought the first unit in November for Christmas and then I got the second unit yesterday. They have the same problem, I can't find anyone with the same fault. Am I just really unlucky. I have a budget of around £200 if I take the Sony back, what do you recommend? |

Pioneer, Toshiba, possibly Panasonic. Panasonic quality isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be, so I don't know about that one. |
