is there a drastic difference between the HDMI monster cable and thx monster cables($130) for a sony sxrd hdtv? i want it the ultimate dvd expierence and i heard mixed reviews about HDMI cables

HDMI seems to be a bit of a buggy interface, IMO.

Try to go with DVI instead.

And, while it's a good idea to spend a little extra on quality cables, you must also be aware of cables that have much more than you really need and are overkill: you'd be wasting money on ridiculous amounts of headroom that isn't really necessary.

Monster Cable is one such make that has products that do deliver quality, but are typically overengineered to the point of lunacy and are priced accordingly.

While having said that, it's also advisable not to pennypinch by using the cheapest cable available. - Reinhart
