Most of the tv I watch is broadcast in 4:3. I also watch video tapes of recorded programming. I have a 1979 19" Sony, which has been a great TV, but is now failing. I was thinking of buying a 16:9 HDTV ready set to replace it (Samsung TXM3098HF?),but I'm wondering if the picture will be decent for all the 4:3 programming and taped programming I watch. Any ideas?

I have the Samsung TXM3098HF and mostly watch4.3 cable programming on it. There is a mode called Panorama on the set that stretches the last 2 inches of the image on each side and compresses the middle. Th result is very good. Looks very natural.
