I am looking for the best DvD player (under $300) that will most consistently play my cheap DvD-R movie burns that can play Mp3's and has component video and optical audio outputs. High video and audio quality are obviously also important. I am using a nice In Focus home-movie projector and 7.1 1000Watt Onkyo audio system. I'd appreciate any knowledge that anyone can share.

Samsung hd841 has HD component output which will look great on an infocus projector. I assume your project will be able to feed off the HDMI signal as well. It doesn't have optical outs but it has a complete set of 5.1 outputs instead.

Mine works great despite all the bad press you read about. And the $50 price tag is excellent.
