I just bought a DVR, and got everything up and running wonderfully.

My question is, what is recommended as far as the quality setting goes? My DVR has HQ (1 hr), SP (2 hr), LP (3 hr), EP (4 hr), and SLP (6 hr).

I recorded a sucessful DVD, mostly on SP, and that looked fantastic. I tried the other record speeds as well, and I only really noticed lower quality on the SLP speed. It did freeze once or twice, only for a brief moment, on the LP and EP speeds.

Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm using this mostly to transfer shows recorded off tv from VHS.

I never go over SP. But if it looks fine in LP to you, it doesn't to me, use it.
