I have a similar setup. You should have video/audio out connections on the back of your DVR. Just use an S-video cable and regular audio left/right cables and hook them up to the DVD-R's video/audio inputs. Realize that everything you output from the DVR will have to be recorded in real time because it's all analog.

Help! I just bought a DVD recorder and am having trouble connecting it to our Magnovox big screen t.v.and charter cable converter box. How do you hook up the cables so that the channels will be auto programmed. Right now all I get is snow. When I did try it one way I was able to record the show that I was watching but that was it.
