We just upgraded our system to HDTV with new HD receiver and HD ready television. My problem is I also want a tivo with receiver (ie. 2 tuners) to record 2 channels at the same time. Can I have both? Use 2 directv receivers? I understand Tivo does not record in HD. My question is when watching live TV, what happens? Is that in HD, using the HD receiver? And the only time it's in SD is when we record? I confused as to which directv receiver we'd actually use. By the way, we are getting a satellite dish with 2 LNBs to support this upgrade. Thx. |

You should wait on the HDTV unit. Samsung will have an HDTV recorder that merges Cable, DirecTV and Off Air all in one. For those with a home network, you'll be able to tranfer programs within the home. Thsi will be the first STB of it's kind to be able to merge any NTSC/ATSC feed, upconvert/downconvert, and record. |
