I have a Pansat 2700E and we're suppost to have Dishnet, but everytime I do a scan on Echo 7 all I get is Bellexpressvu, any suggestions?? also read on re-naming SAT 119 to Echo 119, but can not locate where I would do this.... |

@allison Your dish is out of alignment, it is aimed at bell sats, either 82w or 91w. You can rename the sat by going into menu>Installation>Edit TP/Sat>Rename or you can also rename a sat when loading a channel list. |

I am unable to find SAT 119 or SAT 110 anywhere on my list. I've just done a blind scan on Echo 7/Ku. It's picking up dishnet channels, but not in order. |

@allison Do a blind scan for echo 6/8 (110w) and echo 7 (119w), at this point the channels will be in a TP order not DN, as soon as you finish your scan go to a channel of your choice, press the SAT button on your remote and choose Echostar Package, then press OK and all channels will be grouped in a DN order. |

thanks for the help...i'm a totally newbie, we had direct tv until well...we all know that story. i'm only downloading forgein channels(but we're able to see them) and every network channel(nbc, abc etc) from the US, but our deck is in the way, so we think we'll have to completely move the dish to a different location to get MTV, etc, I think that's the issue.... |

@allison Your dish is pointed at echo 9 (121w) which is used for international and local programming, you are real close to 119, just a few degrees. |

Thanks for the help, we moved our dish and we get all the channels on 119, but we're not getting all the channels on 110, we're pretty much missing the whole lot. would it still be a positioning issue or a progamming issue on my receiver? |

Are you using your old Direct dish or did you get a different one? The LNB that Slo hand is mentioning is the part that the wire comes from on the arm, that points back at the dish.

allison can you get your friend to come back and help you? sounds like you really need someone there with you to help you. Is there a switch connected to the wire between the reciever and the dish? the switch settings may be wrong? |

you will need to buy a new LBN (the head on the arm that the wire comes from that spanky discribed) but if it is a directv lbn then you might want to invest in a new dish with either 2 legacy lbn's of better yet a dishpro lbn and a dish500 dish. Because I don't think the directv dish can pick up 2 sats at the same time. |

DTV single LNB dish is simple and great if U only want either the 110 or the 119...IF U want BOTH the 110 and 119 then do a simple poormans dish,by simply adding another single LNB by strapping it or tying it next to the present LNB...then run your 2 cables to a disque switch ..then receiver..

yepper..thats all U need...FTA is so simple, but we all have a tendency when starting out to believe its so complicated and fancy expensive hardware is needed..I guess thats like everything new that we do..even like driving a car,U think U need a expensive complicated vehicle, when sometime an old inexpensive beater will serve the same purpose..and driving is driving,no matter what...its all basic, just like most all FTA receivers and a dish.. |

Thanks for the answers. I did phone my friend back, he said what you said, i can only get dish 110 or dish 119, and that we're now getting 110, so we need to move our dish 9 degrees, which we will do. I do like the suggestion of adding another lnb that is probably what we'll do. Depends on whether we can get hockey from 119 or not. Again thanks for the help :-) |
