There are MANY different models of those Pantecs...most use specific clone software made for their particular model...but some use pansat software, but are at risk of damaging the receiver...some use fortec software, but again at risk..I recommend U know the EXACT make/model of yours...then join this site www.al7bar.t*k copy/paste into browser and remove the * in .t*k...same with link below.. then go to this specific LINKED below Pantec area and read all about your make/model and software.. http://forums.al7bar.t*k/forumdisplay.php?f=150 |

thanks for the warning. I will take a close look at the receiver. On the front it indicates only "Multistar Pantec Ultra". The unit already runs 97, so I am not sure if there is a way to check what program is inside without chance for the damage. I am planning to add additional dish, but I can not be confident if the software in the Pantec will be appropriate for others. thanks. |

Use the other site I mentioned...they have a LARGE Pantec area..with pics and many posts how to tell the difference between Pantec models..and software for all pantec models..there is MS, MX, Ultra, 2500, etc..also I believe they can tell U how to covert most any model to use Pansat or fortec software...but that is the best Pantec site I have seen..and most files too.. |
