There is probably a simple answer to this but I don't know what it is. I have 2 DVR's, different manufacturers, and the only common RW format they have is -RW. Both offer "Video" and "VR" mode but the manuals don't explain why I would want to use one over the other. All I really want to do is time delay recording for later viewing, no editing of home video or the like. Can someone explain the difference and/or value of each of these? Thank you.

Video mode is compatible with players capable of playing RW discs. VR mode isn't campitible with most players, but it allows editing, video mode doesn't.
