i have the latest file for my cool*at 4000 pro but i am missing a few channels (ex. o*l*n & esp*n news) but i have all the others channels. does anyone have any ideas? |

Chico. If you have the latest Cool Sat bin, you would have all channels. So the answer is no you don't have the latest bin or you have and this is more likely a cloned Cool Sat. I'm sure of it. 99% of the Cool's out there are clones. |

I Gotta Fortec lifetime Ultra.
Do I have to load a old factory binfile before I load the 281 bin?
The old file is 280 bin.
I was told to also do a factory reset.Is this correct?There are a lot of different instuctions out there.
I also need the old factory bin file,I do have the new 281.

MC - I still get freezing on some channels and I've tried just about everything. Not that I'm complaining, but it seems someone knows how to fix this (it just isn't me).
I've loaded the original 272 bin and did a factory reset. Then loaded the 281 bin and did a factory reset. Then I loaded my channel list, but the same channels keep freezing up.
Any suggestions? |

2 channels freeze solid after 10 seconds. FNTSY and TXTSY. Other than those, there is minor glitching on a few channels but nothing severe. The next update should have the freezing fixed. new email is ftatoronto@hotmail.com Website building has started, and is still under construction. It will be an information based website with links to major sites and install info, set ups etc. Should be good when it is complete. I'm in the process of password protecting it this week. Those in my address book will be invited. I expect the site to be up in a couple weeks. |

You should not be getting any freezing on any channel - there are some minor gliches - pixelation and key generation but not a frozen picture! If you are experiencing this tell me what kind of receiver you have and what fix you are using as well as the switch config. |

Vibe. 2 adult channels freeze solid after 10 seconds. This has been documented by programmers. It will be resolved with the next fix. My systems are Cool sat 400 pro, Lifetime Ultra and Dream Box, but you know this LOL. |

I have a fortec lifetime ultra and it is doing the samething freezing up after about 10 seconds on FNTSY then goes to a scrambled channel message for about 5 seconds and then black for 5 seconds. It just repeats this cycle. Other channels work ok with occasional glitches.
Is everyone else with a fortec having this problem? |

salvator. As long as you do a couple factory resets before botting and loading, you should be OK. If it burns out, you will know it's a clone. There is no other way, to my knowledge, to confirm whether it is or not. Good Luck!!! |

I was searching the web yesterday and came across extrememicro.com. I have a fortec ultra. The website gives youa new n2 download and a complete channel list. I followed the instructions and at the end of the instructions it says hook back up to tv and everything comes in. I did that and all I get is black screens and messege saying scrambled channel or bad signal on every channel. Do I have to perform a scan or is there something wrong. My dish is getting 99% as I have a birdog meter. Can anyone help me with this? Should I do a factory reset and then flash with new bin. Please help. |

First problem, is getting the files off the net instead of through a reliable source or a moderated members site. 2nd. Yes you have to scan all channels. read the antenna set-up in your manual and instead of using FTA to scan Press right and switch to ALL then scan. What bin are you planning to load? And using what to load it? |

choose your satellites one at a time. when checked
OK brings you to sub-menu
lnb std khz off disecq is whatever ports match your switch connections out side. coax 1=port 1
ts=...-20.000 high sig quality
where it says FTA... Press right til you see ALL not ALL+D and now scan. Do this for each satellite dish. 110, 119, 121 etc. Scan takes about 30 minutes per satellite do not interrupt it.

I even did backup to factory 247 bin, and then tried upgrade to 281 bin and got "model not correct" message again.

I have a birdog satellite meter. I was having trouble with my fortec, so I pulled my birdog out and started testing the lines. I found out that from the dish to before the disecq switch is good. 99% signal. I tested after the switch and got nothing. How fast do these switches burn out? I just bought it less than a week ago. |

Encryption specialist Nagra Kudelski says its 'Aladin' smart card version has been compromised. There have been widespread reports of a hack, especially in Spain where it is the card of choice for Sogecable's DTH service Digital+. CEO Andre Kudeski confirmed two weeks ago that Aladin represents some 70% of its business, as of June 2005. The company's biggest customer is Echostar's DiSH DTH system in the US, while Canada's Bell ExpressVu is another major. Between them they have taken some 11.7m cards.
A report from investment bankers Credit Agricole Cheuvreux talked last week of Kudelski planning electronic counter measures to cure the hack: "It is still very possible that the hack will not stand up to the electronic countermeasures," said the bank's note. However, the bank warns of several negative implications for Kudelski, not least the firm's basic reputation given that much has been staked on this iteration, as well as churn amongst clients with players like NTL and Telewest planning on switching to the system.
"Under Kudelski's new rental model," said the bank report, "the cost of swap-outs, which would be automatically triggered by piracy, is borne by Kudelski. We estimate that around 11-12 million cards are currently on the rental model (including the Premiere and Canal+ platforms)." These direct costs could amount to SFr50m, suggests the bank.
A Nagra source, speaking at IBC, said the original 'Aladin' card was issued in 2000, and was now in its 5th year of use for some clients. "We are already well advanced with swapping out and upgrading that card with only a few hundred thousand cards to go. This was always planned to be completed by about the end of this year." Our source said that 'Aladin' was a suite of products on which there had been a "small" problem. "This is never a small problem for our clients, however. We spoke to our customers in a timely fashion, and initiated our upgrade plan."

Heads up... All you end-users that are loading up your Ultra's with pansat fixes are damaging your systems. I know you want to end the freezing but you're killing the firmware. What i have heard from mods on Al7bar, and programmers alike are... By loading this bin you are turning your receiver into a cloned Fortec and unfortunately, this can't be reversed. It also voids your warranty on the box. i have already heard of ppl frying the Ultra's as a result of going to the new bin then trying to reload the 281. Just be careful and don't ruin a great thing. If you have channels leave it at that and remember a fix is coming for the freeze issue. Vibe, don't mean to be a nay sayer dude. I'm hearing the opposite regarding Direc. There is NO timeline as to when or IF we will ever see Direc back up and running. Direc is running on a much more advanced Nagra program. But again, things change daily. No one would be more extatic than me to have good ole Dave back in full form along side Charlie. Keep your RG-6 cables crossed, but not the spotbeams. |

Quantum is a clone. You may be able to use a Pansat 2700 or Digiwave 7000 bin. Check with a local programmer to be sure, or the person who sold it to you. |

There is a new bin file out 282 for the Lifetime Ultra (NTSC). It's available on the Al7bar web site. I haven't tried it yet, but it's supposed to correct the freezing problems with some channels. I'll be flashing with this file later today and let everyone know if it works. If anyone has already tried it, let me know how it worked for you. |

OK I have confirmation. My MOD friend on Al7 confirms that this bin is a modded 282 and it works. You may need a special loader which i am still in the process of solidifying the truth. The new bin 282 does work. After installing. menu=Fortec screen not Pantec etc. It is legit and DOES fix the freezing issues. TY PRF for the info. |

No Fortec Ultra bin is for the Fortec. It may work on a clone but it was tested on original Lifetime Ultra's and works great. SPDIF is for 5.1 sound. Unfortunately I don't know how to use it on the Fortec Lifetime Ultra yet but thatz what it does. |

Wow.I flashed the new 282 and I lost all but one (1900 radio) radio stations,still only 2 HBO's,and no MTV.When I look at the bottom of the screen,the info says either nagravison of free.Is'nt it suppose to also say nagravision 2?
My programing never has but I hear that most channels went to nagra 2.Is there something other than the flash I'm not doing right?
As far as loading it,guess what I found.If you unzipp the file then either put the file or zipped file in a seperate folder(away from each other),the fortec updater will work also in flashing.Seems that that updater goes after the zipped file when both are on desktop of in folder together even though you choose the unzipped file,in my case anyway.

Ronald. waz up to you dude. OK. New bin. Great idea to move the file to a diff hardrive or another area of your pc before loading. Use BlkLst loader. When it says OK. Re-scan all your satellites one at a time. make sure you choose the option to scan ALL not FTA, FTA+D or ALL+D. And yes, Nagravision means Nagra 2 so you're hooked up. |

Not only will they work in FTA, but since they come unloaded and empty you simplt take the new programmer, take the base tier package from the Rom 101 or 102 dump that no one really wants to release at this point and you use a new tier maker ( soon to be released ) and a Valid Cam ID, enter your Boxkeys and VALID Ird # and you just did your very own card. Since its VIRGIN you get to put in the revision, place the blocker ( which is the only issue I foresee ) and see if Charlie can hit it or not .... and best of all they are UNDER $100 USD.
Just remember you read this thread here first and mark my words, you'll see these for everything from Coolsats to MOST Echo IRD's as well ....... The future is before us, and the guys on this project are like dollar store people, they are not looking to make a fortune per card, just sell 250,000 cards........and the GUI to run it will be everywhere....... best of all if you screw it up, you can get a new card alone for about $50-60 USD.
Coding as we know it is changing, cause them " Furriners " ( Bush accent ) will sell it soooo cheap, everyone will want at least 3.
do some research and you'll find it just being released at a Sat wholesaler near you............

alanc. Big problem with that. It all sounds good but once you program the card and put it in the datastream... You can not reprogram it after an ECM. Just a heads up. Fortec Ultra users. I have confirmed the new bin 282 that fixes the freezing. I am now running it myself. No freezing on FNTSY or TXTSY. matter of fact. No freezing on Tele Future Telemundo etc. You get the drift. Load at your own risk tho. It does work if you know how to professionally loan a bin. |

MC and all others - Sorry I didn't get to post last night, but the 282 bin does work and all freezing has gone. Word of advice! Although I have scanned all sats for signal and haven't had a problem, it's best if you load a channel list.
I have a good channel list if anyone is interested. (110 & 119).
Additionally, I have found that reseting factory settings before and after every flash cleans any mess left behind on your receivers.
Last butt not least. I've used a few loaders and I find that the easiest one to use is the Blacklist STB Loader. I use gTools to load the channel list. |

If anyone wants lists, files etc. Go to the website PRF gave you and register. We are not providing info or files that is readily available free of charge on the net. PRF and I share files which is why I requested the email. DO NOT BOMBARDE PRF with requests. Go to DSS TESTERS and register. Pay the $$$ and put a smile on your face. Or be a jabroni and use the free untested files available without paying LOL. These ppl are called end-users. |

For everyone else, please get these files from the DSS Testers! My files are no different other then that they have been tested. I don't mind helping out and pointing you in the right direction, but please don't ask for files you can get just about anywhere. Oh and yes, if you don't pay to register, you will be downloading untested files, so read the threads before you load anything. |

Does anyone if the channels that are changing over at the end of the month from Nag 1 to nag2. Are these channels available on our current FTA nagravion or are there still pending channels to be crossed over. I know that DN completes their conversion this weekend so we may all drop like flies. Don't say I didn't warn ya. It is temporary tho. |

Itz difficult to help you if you aren't local. You have to get the load, bin and cable and then upload to your receiver. I don't know if you have a clone or what so I can't recomment you doing it. Email me mic69hael@gmail.com |

Thanks MC, I rescan and got my MTV back,
On a different note, I'm trying to help one of my friend who has a Multistar Pantec Ultra, I did a little bit of research on it, and now I'm more confused then before I started. I'm trying to find the bin files that'll work for it, some say its the pansat 2500 bin, some say its the same as the fortec lifetime ultra. Who is right???? Help! |

Thanks for replying to my mail. Yes I have the cable and I know how to upload the file to the receiver too. I have done this, but I do not have the latest file and the settings for me to get all the channels including ZEE tv,PB and the PPV etc. Even I do not have the MTV.
I would very much appreciate if you could help me out. I have 110,119 and 61.5 installed.
Please let me know the Antena setup too.
