Hi all,

I just purchased a Toshiba D-R4 and connected it to my Comcast cable box and my TV using coax cables. After starting up the recorder, nothing on the screen happened, though the manual states that I should have an icon that says "Loading". I played around with the channels on the DVD recorder and turned it to channel 3, the same output channel for my cable box.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

DVD recorders don't output through the RF connection, they only pass through the incoming signal. You need to use component, s-video or RCAs.
