1. If I want to change my Directv programming...i.e. get HBO, cancel HBO, get the NFL Sunday Ticket, etc...do I need my phone line plugged in? Or does the signal to make the changes to my programming card come through the dish?

2. Do I ever need to plug in the phone line?

3. If I move and don't tell Directv will they be able to know that I have moved?

1. No phone line needed, if you use the internet account to order things instead of your remote (on Sunday ticket, etc).
2. Only if you want to use PPV using the remote, or order something like a TV guide using the remote.
3. No, they won't, but you will not get your locals anymore if you move out of the spot beam. Most locals are not beamed to the entire country. You cannot receive NY locals in LA, for example. If you don't transfer your address, you won't get the LA ones, either. But if you don't care about the local stations, then it's not a problem.
