Toshiba says when I bought my 57H94 57" it was not intended to be used as a monitor. Why would they say that? Are there any safety issues connecting a DVI or HDMI from PC to TV? MY freind has a Akia and does it all the time with no problems.

Is it unsafe to the screen, do I take any risks connecting the computer DVI to DVI? Also how do you guys transfer sound? I do not have an optical cable.

Thanks for your help + time,
