I have a Sony Wega Plasma TV (37in), but a regular Directv drv box. The picture on my tv is not crisp especially during sporting events. In fact, it is somewhat fuzzy. If I upgraded to a HD DVR or HD box, would this make my picture instantly clear even if the shows are not broadcast in HD?

Or if it's not the hd situation, is there certain wires I should be using? I currently have component wires conencted
