What is the difference between the Samsung HLR6168W and the Samsung HLR6178 ? On all of the sites I have surfed to the specification are the same except for theweight. |

Contrast ratio. Look closely, the 68 model is 5000:1, the 78 model is 10000:1. I'm ready to pull the trigger on the 56" model and was surfing web looking for answer to this question:
Is it worth the extra $1000 or so for the 10000:1 contrast ratio? |

There is no difference in contrast or any other technical specification between the two 1080P models. The 68 is a floating screen design. (Screen separation from the speakers) The 78 is not. That's the only difference.
Is it worth the $1000 or so difference in price?

Oh go for it. FYI has a few sets. He upgrades every time a screw changes places.....fearful of missing something. Sure Its worth a G. LOL
FYI buys specs nothing else He thinks he can see all the minute differences,

My 67 was a "G" less.
I only have one set.
Nothing wrong with upgrading, though I'm sure you are quite afraid too. |
