I would like to first explain what are the components that I am trying to coneect:

1. Hdtv (has HDMI and component video)
2. av receiver (has optical audio & digital coaxial)
3. sony dvd player (has optical audi0 & digital coaxial)
4. comcast hd cable box (has DVI and digital coaxial)

The cables i have:

1. 1 HDMI to DVI
2. 1 component video
3. 1 optical audio
4. 1 digital coaxial

This is how I am planning to make my connections. Could some one review it and give suggestions?

1. Feed from comcast to cable box
2. Video from cable box - DVI to HDMI to the TV
3. Audio from cable box - digital coaxial to av receiver
4. video from dvd - component video to tv
5. audio from dvd - optical to av receiver
6. av receiver - connected to all speakers

Am I on the right track? any improvements or mistakes? any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Are the 2 video source to the tv 2 audio source to the av receiver enough?

THanks in advancefor any help!

In my opinion, your connection scheme is fundamentally sound. Thanks for hooking up and then seeking advice rather than vice versa.
