Hi, I'm new to the video scene and need a bit of help on video cables. Can I use 3 regular composite cables (RCA connectors) and use them as component cables? I have quite a few composite cables lying around but no component cables. I want to hook up my progressive scan DVD player to my Hitachi 51F510 widescreen projection TV.

Or 3 RG6U coaxial cables with RCA plugs?

Is the actual component cable made differently from regular composite cable?

Thanks.

Yes, you can use the composite cables. No, the component cables are no differnet than the composite cables. As long as you use a quality cable, you will be fine.
