Hi all,

I have a Samsung DLP HLR6167WX TV, Samsung DVD player with HDMI out and a Directv HDTV H10 HDMI box.

Since the TV only has one HDMI port, should I connect the HDTV box to the TV using HDTV component cables and the DVD player to the TV with the HDMI? or vice versa?

What is the best solution? I was told HDMI is the best source and required for the HDTV functionality. Is there a way to get BOTH boxes to the TV with HDMI? Splitter?

Thanks in advance.

You can use an HDMI switch but HDMI cannot be simply split with a passive splitter. Search online for "HDMI Switch", you will get plenty of choices.

Use the HDMI for DVD.

Use component (Pr, Pb, Y) for the H10.

Whoever told you that HDMI is required for HDTV functionality is incorrect. Most HD set owners prefer component connections, especially to set top boxes.
