Started this thread for the Panasonic PT-xxLC14 series.

I have a PT-50LC14 which has been great for the first 4 months of ownership. Recently though, it has an intermitent problem with turning on. Upon pressing the power button, the fan will start and the power light will flash green for a short time as normal. But at the point where the lamp and sound will normally come on, the power light turns solid red and the fan shuts off. No other warning lights come on.

The TV will eventually come on. Sometimes the TV will turn on at the first attempt and other times it will take repeated attempts.

Has anyone else had this problem and know what the problem is? I would like to know what component is faulty before having a service tech poke around inside the TV. My biggest fear is something else will get messed up trying to get this intermittent problem sorted out.
