We found a second hand Philips 28GR6775/75R TV that had been thrown out for the rubbish and we're trying to fix it - not sure what the original problem with it was but currently we're having a problem with the channels.

Turn the tv on, and it starts changing through channels 0-99 automatically and won't stop (it starts again at 0). It looks like it's searching to find channels but even though it finds them it just keeps running on the same loop. In decades of fixing old tv's my dad's never heard or this problem before, and is stumped. Any ideas?
