I have an NEC HT1000 and the lamp is getting down to about 15% life left. This may be a dumb question but do these lamps lose brightness toward the end of their lives? I have done a bit of research and it seems they do but I'd like to have this confirmed. Thanks M

They're supposed to constantly lose brightness and the lamp hours mentioned in specs is apparently the # of hours it typically worked, in tests, till the lamp's brightness reached half of the original.

Thanks Anil,

I didn't think anyone was going to answer this query. (Maybe they're all wary of newcomers to the forum!). I've been trying to work out if the picture is darker than it was when new(ish). I think you've answered that for me.

Cheers

M
