I've been looking into getting a large TV, probably a RP LCD. I was wondering about warranty. It will cost anywhere from $300 to $500(Canadian Dollars) for an extra 3 to 5 years. Someone told me that if you have a breakdown it will be happening after at least five years anyway. So in your opinion/experiance should I shell out up to 500 bucks on top of the TV purchase and the stand and the cables and the tax(it seems to go on and on) or give my credit card a little break?

Thanks for any help
M
