I just bought a Samsung HL-R5067W and upgraded to HD cable (Motorola BMC9012). The DVR is connected by component cables. The question is what to set the DVR to (480i,720p,1080i) because I can select all of them. Samsung's specifications list says the tv has "Component Video Input (Smart Input)". Does that mean I can select all the settings (480i,720p,1080i) in the DVR because the tv can decide what the signal is and then how to display the picture? |

Congrats on the new R67! Set the DVR to 720P because that is the "native" display resolution of your tv. Any signal that your tv receives will be scaled to it's native 720P resolution, so, it is best to feed the set a signal that it doesn't need to scale or process any further. |
