3 days ago, my pansat 2500a went out along with 3 of my buddies units.Everyone else in my area is still up.This is a werid problem.Im getting a wait for picture message.The keys in my unit are the same as the ones that are still up.Can anyone please help me.thank u. |

Instructions:
If you have never flashed before, make sure you have a STRAIGHT THROUGH serial cable. A standard crossover cable WILL NOT WORK. Also note that some computers and laptops have misconfigured or sub-standard serial ports and may not work properly. Also, many USB to serial adaptors have been known to cause issues.
1. Connect your receiver to your PC with the serial cable female to female.
2. Load up the "GTRom STB Updater" software.
3. Select the correct Serial Port for your system and leave Baud at 115200. For STB Model enter "Pansat 2500A" exactly, without the quotes. If this doesn't work, some users have also had success with "key:global". Under Bin File select your recently downloaded fix.
4. Hit "Download" and wait for your STB to be updated. Note that you must wait for the message "Download Complete", at which point your receiver will reboot. DO NOT STOP UPDATING OR DISCONNECT YOUR CABLE WHEN IT REACHES "100%" - WAIT FOR THE "DOWNLOAD COMPLETE" MESSAGE!
5. Now, load up GTools. You must use version 1.85, not version 1.81 or earlier. Due to menu corruption, Windows 98 users should download the special Win98 version which allows the STB type to be customized via a mouse right-click menu.
6. Open your channel list and make sure that only the satellites you are receiving are selected. This is not a guide on how to use GTools, so I'm going to A$$ume that you know what you're doing here - otherwise check other threads for instructions.
7. Go to OPTION -> STB SETTING (or, for the Win98 version, right click and go to TOOLS -> STB TYPE) and set it to Type2. (Yes, Pansat STBs used to use Type1, but this update needs Type2.) Unless you have a 2300 model then you use Type 1 and also for model 1500 you need to use Type 2 on your channel list.
8. Go to TOOLS -> STB CONNECT (Win98 users will find this via a right-click menu).
9 Select your COM port like you did earlier, then click the Download button.
10. Wait for the download to complete, like earlier, and your STB to reboot.
11. Connect receiver and make sure to get right signal quality by going to menu, follow the on screen instructions then go to Parental Control.
12. Scroll down to the very bottom line and enter "0" four times. This will lead to a new menu.
13. Scroll down to the "Set Default Key" line and press OK.
14. You'll see a message about waiting for settings to save, after which you can leave the Setup Menu.
15. Start watching TV!
These steps worked perfectly for me. So if they didn't work for you...
1. Are your satellites set up correctly in the setup menu? Also check your DiSeqC settings.
2. Is your channel list good/recent enough?
3. Have you tried manually scanning for channels?
4. Do you have a DishPRO LNB/dish? Download a channel list designed specifically for it.
5. Has the setup worked before? If not, double and triple check your satellite dish's alignment. Are your LNBs leading into the DiSeqC port you thought they were? Is your dish aimed at the satellite you thought it was? Remember that the STB has no idea what satellite you're aimed at and will give you readings even if you're aimed at the wrong one. If you can't get any channels or are having odd transponder problems, it could very well be your dish's alignment. Is the signal strength strong enough?
6. If you can't edit the channel list or access parental controls, you likely downloaded a channel list as STB Type1. Download it again as Type2.
7. Something else could be wrong, like your switch, dish, LNB, cabling, and so on.
8. Note that you do NOT have to flash back to the factory image before applying this fix (but if you end up having problems with Knight Rider lights please see below) and you do NOT have to edit any keys before pressing "Set Default Keys".
9. It is completely normal to have a "Bad or scrambled channel" message pop up briefly now and again while watching television.
Getting "Knight Rider" flashing lights after flashing?
1. Go to www.pansatusa.com and download the factory firmware image, then flash it to your STB via the instructions above. Afterwards, try loading the fix again.
2. Try powering your STB off and on before flashing.
3. Always, always wait for the "Download Complete" message when flashing.
4. If it just won't work, try flashing from a different computer - especially if you're using a USB to Serial adaptor or a laptop |

How to fix:

now go down to nagravision and press ok
now press the right side arrow next to the ok button 11 times untill it sais dish network
now press the down arrow 1 time
key number should read 00 now
now press the down arrow 1 time
using the buttons on the remote (number buttons, To type the letters into the new keydata, press the appropriate button on your remote: Audio = A, Info = B, Signal = C, Pause = D, Sat = E, EPG = F)
set the key to
8A C4 96 93 EC 79 9D 57
now press the ok button! then press exit to exit the menu
This is how to change your public keys when needed, these instructions should work for both 2300 and 2500 pansats.

If I added a second fta stb. to my existing dish500 would it work just by putting on a splitter at the end of rg6 cable or would there be a conflict between the 2. I would assume if one stb.is running at a time there would be no conflict but I beleive I read somewhere that it will work without conflict. Any thoughts? Thanks |

I am not able to store the new key data for the March 15 crack.
When I entered the new key data, and then pressed ok for several times to save the new entered key data, and then exit, but nothing was saved. The old key data still there.

Help, under installation and selected satellite is comes up with like a full slate of 'new' satellites and since it is full it won't let me add my echo's.....any hints? I've tried new files and I get the same thing...should I reset to factory default? |

It goes to user setup, factory setting and system information. How can I get parental control and channel edit back to the main menu. The front panel of receiver shows 0o. Thanks in advance |

READ the REPUTABLE DSS SITES thread/topic in these forums...then CONTACT the sponsors/advertisers there and ask them..some Dss sites sell pre programmed/some don't..VERY SIMPLE!...and its posted everywhere here..
BTW ...most don't sell preprogrammed...and much cheaper to buy NOT programmed...and VERY SIMPLE to program...BUT U would know that if U had READ for a few minutes at any DSS site..
Also NOBODY is going to email U,U must GO out and SEARCH for the answers...only scammers will come to U! |

Now, my receiver doesn't show anything on the front display. No image on tv. How can I reset the pansat 2500a to its original boot. |

First reset the receiver...power switch on BACK OFF,unplug,wait 1 minute,plug back in,Power on Back of receiver turn back ON..now flash back to original factory 222 bin..also read this link ..then bookmark (favorites) the page

Latest keys 3-17 are posted here everywhere...LOOK
Paul...those are Dishnetwork satellites 110-119,and if U want to switch then realign your roof dish to the correct BEV satellites 82-91

We just bought Pansat2500A. We followed the instruction and installed flashpansat2500a, , set the STB model as Pansat 2500A, select the latest bin Blacklist-x-85BL_041106_237_api(n).bin. Downloaded the latest channel file called DISH PRO-110-119 with NFL.gtd. Now the biggest problem we have is we can not select Parental Control! The menu button is grayed out!Can anyone help? We also saw the level goes up 90%, but the quality is still zero. Appreciated for the help in advance!!! |

Hi, I have a pansat 2500A, and I have the key for 3-17-05 installed, but it is still asking for the key info. Is there another key code that has not been posted, and if so where else could I go that might have it? I just got this receiver within the last two months, am I suppose to do this flashing bit???? Thanks in advance, and God do I hope you can help me. |

Somehow I lost signal to my second receiver-the second receiver is fed from the IF output of the first receiver-all cables are okay. Is there anything in programming I messed up? The first receiver works fine-help, please. |

Funny you should say mickey mouse site - My boss makes me drive a car that mickey mouse would drive. Yeah some people don't like to do their homework, or any work at all. Still trying to figure out why my if output isn't outputing. I'll get it eventually. |
